Lately, I’ve been obsessed with holiday nutcrackers and even after deciding on a candy cane themed Christmas in our house, I just can’t stop admiring the nutcrackers for sale at all the Home Goods stores in town (yes, I regularly go to more than one Home Goods store in the DC area, and YES, it is my other much more serious obsession).
Being inspired by a nutcracker napkin ring set of 4, I found online at the World Market for $9.99, I decided to make my own version of the rings with a great dollar store find of nutcrackers ornaments for only $1 for a a set of 2.
The $ Breakdown:
- $2 – Four nutcracker ornaments from the dollar store ($1 a pair)
- $2 – Set of five wooden Cabone Rings after 25% off coupon from Michael’s
- $0.50 Ribbon
- Total: $4.50 for a set of four!
You can probably guess the how-to from the photos. It’s as simple as:
1) Wrap the napkin ring with ribbon
2) Glue the ribbon in place
3) Glue the nutcracker ornament in place
4) Throw a fabulous party featuring your new napkin rings (the most important step, of course!)
So Adorable! What a creative and frugal idea!
I just googled DIY nutcracker napkin rings….I am off to the Dollar Store. What a terrific craft to do with my grandchildren. We are going to paint the wooden rings. By the way, Michael’s has some adorable nutcracker christmas crackers on sale for only $7.49 for 10!! Thanks for your posting…Warna
Love this idea! Pinned for next year!
Glued the ring on but it’s not sturdy but it’s adorable just to lay on the plate but the napkin has to be put in with great care or ring comes off
