Hi, Pam! Hot glue always works for me (I’m usually VERY generous with the glue though), but maybe you should try a stronger glue like Super Bond? I did mine with the candy canes unwrapped; you might want to try unwrapping them (or leaving the wrapping on if you are unwrapping to see if that might work). I hope that helps.

I’m having trouble making the hot glue stick to the candle and candy canes….. any suggestions.

Do you take the plastic off the candy canes?

Yes I usually do – I think it’s a cleaner look, but you can leave them on if you prefer (or if you want to eat them later ;-).

If you unwrap them, do they not get sticky and make a mess? I wanted to make some for my co-workers but don’t want them to get messy after a few days.
