Fabrics always take me back to my childhood, going to all the fabric stores with my mom and being fascinated by the rows and rows of colorful fabrics. They also remind me of my beloved grandma, who was always surrounded by fabrics. She sewed with love the most charming patchwork bedspreads that she always donated to our local public children’s hospital.
Amy Butler is one of my favorite textile designers. All her fabrics make me want to learn how use a sewing machine, and someday make a throw pillow, placemat, or even a light summer dress with her stunning fabrics. I’m always inspired by her playful bohemian designs. For anyone skilled with needle and thread, her books are filled with patterns and instructions to turn fabrics into fashion. I wouldn’t have a clue where to start, even with a book in front of me, so I was very excited to hear Amy has expanded from just fabrics into finished products.
Yesterday, I went to my local Bed Bath and Beyond to check the new Amy Butler’s organic bedding and towels. I’m completely in love with all the cheerful bedding, towels and shower curtains.
