Be What We Love

An Afternoon at a Virginia Organic Farm.

September 13, 2012

My husband and I love to take road trips on weekends and explore every nearby little city, beautiful landscape, and small shop around our home in the Washington DC area.

This summer our group of friends decided that each of us should plan a fun day trip around our area, and West Virginia was one of our destinations. On our way back from the horse races in Charles Town, WV, we stopped off at this amazing local and certified organic farm called Stoneybrook Farm and their amazing farm market in Hillsboro, VA.

Their pecan pie, pumpkin butter, and caramel popcorn were incredibly delicious, and of course all the fresh and organic vegetables, fruits and lettuces were planted just a few yards away from their store. Sitting on the store’s picturesque back porch amongst the flowers, sipping a fresh made beet and carrot juice drink, snacking on popcorn and pumpkin scones, and watching the sunset over the rows of vegetables was the perfect end to a great day.
