Lately, I’ve been obsessed with holiday nutcrackers and even after deciding on a candy cane themed Christmas in our house, I just can’t stop admiring the nutcrackers for sale at all the Home Goods stores in town (yes, I regularly go to more than one Home Goods store in the DC area, and YES, it is my other much more serious obsession).
Being inspired by a nutcracker napkin ring set of 4, I found online at the World Market for $9.99, I decided to make my own version of the rings with a great dollar store find of nutcrackers ornaments for only $1 for a a set of 2.
The $ Breakdown:
- $2 – Four nutcracker ornaments from the dollar store ($1 a pair)
- $2 – Set of five wooden Cabone Rings after 25% off coupon from Michael’s
- $0.50 Ribbon
- Total: $4.50 for a set of four!
You can probably guess the how-to from the photos. It’s as simple as:
1) Wrap the napkin ring with ribbon
2) Glue the ribbon in place
3) Glue the nutcracker ornament in place
4) Throw a fabulous party featuring your new napkin rings (the most important step, of course!)

I just love these napkin rings. They are so unusual and beautiful. Our money has changed a lot recently (less) and I have to be very creative and money wise. So thank you for this idea.
