Homemade gifts are my favorite, you can always feel the love, kindness, thoughtfulness of people. Every year, I make something to share with friends, my husband’s co-workers, and family. This year I made hot cocoa on a stick and homemade marshmallows, and would love to share with you. Maybe you’ll be inspired to share the love of a homemade food gift, one that will cost very little but it will mean a lot for all your loved ones.
You’ll need:
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips + 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- One 4-oz bar unsweetened chocolate (broken or chopped into smaller pieces to speed melting)
- Wooden sticks
- 8″x8″ pan, lined with parchment paper or silicone ice cube tray
Directions:
- Heat the cream and sweetened condensed milk over medium-low heat until it starts steaming, stirring periodically.
- Remove from heat and add chocolate.
- Stir and let sit for 10 minutes, then put back on medium-low heat and stir with a whisk until chocolate is completely melted and shiny.
- Pour chocolate into prepared pan and spread chocolate as level as you possibly can.
- Let sit overnight.
- Remove / Slice into squares while cold (you must do this while cold, otherwise they can lose shape)
- Top chocolate cube with anything you’d like: marshmallows, crushed candy canes, etc. (optional)
- Insert stick just over halfway through.
- Enjoy!
If you’re giving these as gifts, feel free to use the tags I designed. Just click the image, print them out and use a 2″ punch or cut with scissors.
