• Who Woodn’t Love It?

    These wood bowls and platters are some of my favorite pieces for entertaining.  Many of them are sourced from the roots of fir trees that would just remain in the ground, this helps clear the land so that new trees have room to grow.  They are finished with a food-safe lacquer.  Since they’re also eco-friendly, who wouldn’t love them.  You can find them at Vivaterra and  Neiman Marcus.   • State & City Pillows

    The first time I saw these pillows was 2 years ago in a charming little home decor store in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Since then, I’ve been fascinated by these hand embroidered comfy pillows.  How great would it be to have a pillow for each State and city I’ve lived in. Catstudio makes them, and now they even have dish towels, beach towels, totes and much more with this city motif.

    We love things that are beautiful, practical, and that help us express ourselves and be even more creative.  If one thing could do all of this, well, that thing might be Chalk Paint!  Yes Chalkboards have moved out of the classroom and into any room you want.   A calendar for your home office, an entryway note area, a kitchen grocery list spot, or a place just to write love notes for family, a chalkboard wall can be all of these things.     Purple, mauve, lilac, lavender, plum, amethyst, grape, bordeaux, heather, or aubergine.  Purple is one of the most challenging color for any designer.  But lately, I’m falling in love with this jewel-tone color more and more.
