• Escargots, s’il vous plaît!

I absolutely love French cuisine.  Escargots drenched in garlic butter is on the top of my list of delicious appetizers. Last weekend, my husband and I celebrated the 7th anniversary of our first date, and I wanted to cook a special dinner for us, and nothing sounded more special than a french dinner. Here’s the recipe I used for this delicious escargot appetizer. Bon Appétit!!

  • Reusing Wine Bottles

I’m always looking for great ideas to recycle things around the house.  In a world with the threat of global warming, every little thing we can do to eliminate waste makes a better world for us to live in. Empty wine bottles always abound after a good party, and empty champagne bottles after a great party (at least in this champagne aficionado’s house).  If you want to save some from the recycle bin, here are some fun, easy and creative ideas to reuse them.  Cheers!   Check out the full DIY instructions for wine-bottle torches here, and the wine bottle wall vase here. Ruffles are so feminine, romantic, and add texture to any home decor.  Here are some of the ruffles that I love. I’ve always loved this Anthropologie shower curtain. But now Urban Outfitters sells a more affordable version available in 6 solid colors. How adorable are these ruffled tablecloth and dishes? Ruffle bedding…

  • Who Woodn’t Love It?

These wood bowls and platters are some of my favorite pieces for entertaining.  Many of them are sourced from the roots of fir trees that would just remain in the ground, this helps clear the land so that new trees have room to grow.  They are finished with a food-safe lacquer.  Since they’re also eco-friendly, who wouldn’t love them.  You can find them at Vivaterra and  Neiman Marcus. We love natural chic things, and you can’t get more natural than wood.  We have about 5 different wood serving items, and use them for everything from serving appetizers to holding napkins.  Here’s a shot of one of our spreads.  We added…
