• Baked Empanadas

Baked Empanadas Recipe Servings: 10 empanadas • Cook Time: 15 minutes Empanadas are a common snack in many Latin American countries, but they always feel like a treat to me.  What makes them even better is how versatile they are.  You can stuff them with just about anything savory or sweet, fry or bake them, and they always come out great.  Just throw whatever leftovers you have in your fridge into an empanada.  Since I had some leftover ground turkey, I used it as my filling.  These were baked and for the dough I used Goya brand discs from the frozen section in my supermarket, but you can make yours…

  • Reusing Paint Swatches

Painting is always one of the cheapest ways to give any room a facelift. $20 in paint can transform a house into a home. We have tons of paint samples in drawers and design boxes, some that made it to the walls, some that never did. I’m amazed at the creative ways people have used them: gift tags, bookmarks, place cards, wallpaper, napkin rings and more. I loved the concept of housewarming invitations on a paint swatch. You can easily print out these invitations at home. Make a template using Word (or any other graphic or text editing program), set the paper dimensions and print it on the swatch.

In some states you don’t even need a license or registration on scooters with engines 50cc’s and under. Couple that with the ability to park it virtually anywhere that has something you can chain it to, getting a…

  • Fall 2010: Oxford Shoes

Oxfords (also known as brogues) are a quintessential piece in mens’ shoe closets, but they aren’t just for men.  Women are embracing this menswear classic, pairing them with anything from cuffed jeans to tights, shorts, and dresses.  Regardless of what you wear your oxford shoes with, the key to getting the look right is to counterbalance the masculine influence of brogues with a feminine silhouette or details.
