• Dessert in a Jar: Pineapple Surprise

    Pineapple is a huge trend these days, they are literally everywhere from clothing, stationery, party themes etc.  and I’ve been always very obsessed with them, as you may notice from old posts  in this blog. I had to bring a dessert to a picnic party with friends.  Mini desserts are always my favorite choice to bring to a small to medium size gathering because of how easy they are for people to just grab and eat.  I always love to add cute fabrics as I did to transform it into a delightful food gift for a friend, teacher or co-worker.

    A couple weeks ago we took our annual trip to a beautiful orchard in Northern Virginia for a fun day of apple picking. This year we chose Hollin Farms. We’ve been to Hollin Farms several times for strawberry picking, but it was our first time there for apples, and it turned out there was a LOT more in season than just apples! The farm is about 45 minutes from Washington DC and goes straight through Virginia wine country. There are several great wineries to stop at for a glass, or just a scenic picnic.
