Last week we had my parents visiting us and I couldn’t pass up on the chance to ask my super creative dad to colaborate with me in a DIY project for the blog. I found a great set of wood plates, and I always use them for picnics, but had an extra one ready to be used for something fun, so we came out with this idea while walking around our local craft store. I love how whimsical this cake stand looks, and would look great at a kid’s woodland theme party or baby shower. My dad’s chalk lettering skills came in handy for this photoshoot.

Sweet Birthday Party
I’ve always loved birthday parties, especially my own. Usually my family flies out here to spend my birthday with me, but this year they had my younger cousin’s wedding and they had to postpone their trip. So, I decided to throw myself a party, and what better way to celebrate this sweet life than with a night full of my favorite treats and amazing friends. I love a good ol’ paper invitation, but because I didn’t have some of my friends mailing addresses, an email invitation worked best in this case.
