Mason Jars Love

July 6, 2010

Recently I bought a box of Mason Jars, and besides using for homemade tomato sauce, I love the creative uses I’ve seen them put to.  We love that they’re so multi-functional and cheap, and with a little ingenuity they can become a chic centerpiece.  You can save them up from empty jars you use at home, pick them up for pennies at a thrift store, or buy a dozen of them at a mega-store for just a few bucks. Here are a few of my favorite uses, and steps to make a DIY soap or lotion pump that’s perfect for the summer, or a gift.

Coincidentally, yesterday after I’d prepped this post, we went antique hunting in Leesburg,VA and spotted a lovely bird-feeder made from guess what? A mason jar!

Caca! I love it! There is something magical about mason jars. I especially loved the makeshift chandelier out of a couple mason jars… I will keep that in mind!

There is a restaurant in Phoenix, Lo lo’s Chicken and Waffles, that serves their drinks, such as sweet tea, home made lemonaid and Kool-aid, in mason jars! Perfect way to wash down the chicken, waffles and collard greens. If you scroll to the bottom of the first page on the site a linked you’ll see how it’s done Lo Lo style.
